Help Each Student in Your Classroom Succeed
Your Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in Core Subjects from EC-6 from the University of Houston-Clear Lake will prepare you to educate children from early childhood through sixth grade, and with your certification in Special Education, you’ll be able to do so much more. As student populations grow and become more diverse, there is an increase in the number of students with special needs who require additional support to address their specific learning, emotional, mental or physical challenges. You will have the skills to help all students, regardless of their academic challenges, to achieve a higher level of success.

Special education teachers are a valued resource in the school environment. You’ll also work with general education teachers, counselors, social workers, school superintendents, administrators and parents to create a team spirit to address your students' needs. You’ll be equipped to work in a classroom, a resource center or another setting in your school to teach students, depending on their needs. As student populations continue to increase and become more diverse, employment of special education teachers is expected to increase faster than average. Your Bachelor of science from University of Houston-Clear Lake’s College of Education equips you with the training you’ll need to be a coveted member of any school’s faculty.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants who have attended an institution located outside the United States must: Possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school/secondary diploma. Proof of English Language Proficiency: Your minimum scores must be: 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam; 79 on the TOEFL (iBT) exam; 6.0 on the IELTS exam, 53 on the PTE exam; or, you can successfully complete level 112 in the ELS Intensive English Language program.
