Addictions counselors play an integral role in supporting individuals addicted to drugs or alcohol through the stages of the recovery process. With your Bachelor of Science in Addictions Counseling from University of Houston-Clear Lake, you’ll empower people to address the emotional issues that underlie substance use disorders and resolve personal challenges in a healthy manner.
Become a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor
Many positions in the field of counseling require licensure and post-secondary education. That’s why your degree from UHCL will make you a more attractive candidate to prospective employers. You will complete the coursework required to graduate and apply for licensure with the Texas State Department of Health Services. Once licensed, you will be able to work as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. UHCL is the only public institution in Texas that offers this degree.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants who have attended an institution located outside the United States must: Possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school/secondary diploma. Proof of English Language Proficiency: Your minimum scores must be: 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam; 79 on the TOEFL (iBT) exam; 6.0 on the IELTS exam, 53 on the PTE exam; or, you can successfully complete level 112 in the ELS Intensive English Language program.
