Play a Key Role in Students’ Middle Years
As a future educator working toward certification in core subjects in grades 4-8, you’ll play an integral role in helping students develop the majority of their educational, personal, emotional and physical habits. With a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with Core Subjects 4-8 Certification from University of Houston-Clear Lake’s College of Education, you will help your students improve their core proficiency each year. You will acquire an effective classroom management style from the insights you’ll gain from your field experiences to schools.
Learn Expert Use of Instructional Methods
Encompassing such as topics as algebra, British literature and world geography, your curriculum prepares you for your student internship and future job in front of intermediate, middle and junior high school students. The College of Education faculty are dedicated to your success and select instructional approaches from methods that are well researched and widely practiced in your grade level and content area. Because no single teaching method works best for every teacher and student, you’ll learn to adapt to all kinds of teaching methods, such as cooperative groups, problem-based learning and interactive lectures.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants who have attended an institution located outside the United States must: Possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school/secondary diploma. Proof of English Language Proficiency: Your minimum scores must be: 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam; 79 on the TOEFL (iBT) exam; 6.0 on the IELTS exam, 53 on the PTE exam; or, you can successfully complete level 112 in the ELS Intensive English Language program.
