The Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling offered by the College of Education is a three-year course of study. It is designed to prepare students to work with individuals with disabilities (including transition aged youth and veterans) in public and private rehabilitation agencies, hospitals, industry and related fields. Graduates of the program will be prepared to take the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor examination.
Rehabilitation counseling is a growing field in the mental health and allied health professions. A rehabilitation counselor helps individuals with disabilities achieve optimal social, psychological and vocational potential. Whenever possible, the final goal of rehabilitation is job placement.
The Rehabilitation Counseling degree is a gateway that provides training opportunities that will sustain you throughout your future career. Rehabilitation Counselors work in a variety of agencies that serve individuals from youth (in high school) to the older populations. The Rehabilitation Counseling program provides graduates with the opportunity to serve those in need of assistance from transition aged high school youth to veterans.
The focus of a Rehabilitation Counselor is to help develop effective strategies to eliminate barriers that prevent people from living their best lives (regardless of their age). 為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants who have obtained a earned a degree comparable to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree, you’re eligible to apply as a graduate student. GPA requirement: Have attained a grade-point average of at least 2.5 in the last 90 quarter (60 semester units) units attempted. English requirement: TOEFL (iBT 79/80 or PBT 550), IELTS (General: 6.0 total band score).
