The mission of the Environmental and Occupational Health Science (EHS) Program at Western Kentucky University is to educate students in preparation for an exciting career in the environmental health science. The EHS Program is committed to providing south central Kentucky, the state, and the nation with entry-level environmental professionals. The program is built upon a sound foundation of providing students with a background in assessing environmental resources, including water, air, and land resources, in relation to environmental and human health.
The major in environmental and occupational health science requires a minimum of 70 semester hours and leads to a Bachelor of Science degree. No minor or second major is required. Including general education and major requirements, a total of 120 semester hours are required for graduation.

English Language Requirements: TOEFL iBT 71, TOEFL (Paper or Computer based): 525- paper based; 197- computer based; IELTS (academic version): 6.0 or higher; ELS Language Center: Level 109 completion or higher; Pearson Test of English - Academic (PTEA) 52; SAT Critical Reading (before March 2016); 450 SAT Evidence Based Reading and Writing (March 1, 2016 and after) 460.
