The B.A. in Dance is designed to provide a solid foundation in the discipline of dance. A minor (or double major) in another field is also required. The B.A. in Dance is a 45 credit hour program. You must achieve a level 4 in one dance genre and level 3 in a second genre in order to graduate.
The dance degrees require students to follow a large common core of courses, which have been carefully structured to provide students with the foundation needed to become artists, educators, and performers. Additionally, all dancers study ballet, jazz, modern, and tap dance technique to round out their dance education. Students also have the opportunity to study point, partnering, and theatre dance.
