The University Of Maine Department Of Art Studio Program offers the B.A. and B.F.A. degrees in the lively context of a liberal arts education. The program has a great teacher-to-student ratio, providing students individual attention. The studio faculty is all active professionals, strongly committed to effective teaching. Fully engaged in their own creative research, the faculty also has an outstanding record of exhibiting their work in prestigious local, national and international venues.
Our digital art classes encourage experimentation, exploration and applications of technology and media within contemporary art practices. We begin with a foundation that cultivates creative, critical and technical problem-solving skills using industry standard digital tools. Additional classes introduce students to 2D animation, character animation, motion graphics and filmmaking. Advanced courses allow students to find their own visual style by working on longer form projects to develop new applications of technology, media and art. Using technology and digital tools, students are encouraged to pioneer a creative process that allows for collaboration across departments, specializations and media to create innovative, hybrid art.
Career and Graduate Opportunities
Diverse career opportunities exist for Department of Art graduates. The degrees offered prepare students for a wide range of vocational choices inside as well as outside the field of art. They also provide a solid foundation for those choosing to go on for graduate study. Many graduates of the Department of Art have developed careers in different aspects of Studio Art, Art Education and Art History, including graphic design, fashion design, museum administration, arts administration, and multi-media.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Clear, legible photocopy of graduation certificate or diploma issued by the Ministerio de Educación and Academic transcripts indicating all subjects taken and grades obtained. Students must have completed secondary/high school or university work. English language requirement: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – minimum score of 79 (iBT) or 550 (paper-based test); IELTS (International English Language Testing System) – minimum score of 6.5; PTE (Pearson Test of English) – minimum score of 53.
