Students in Medical Laboratory Sciences (Medical Technology) prepare to become medical laboratory scientists who work in the laboratory/diagnostic sector of the health professions industry and in research laboratories. Graduates have high levels of employment and can work across the United States. Medical Laboratory Science students study on campus for three academic years and then spend their senior year in a yearlong medical center practicum. The practicum is a full-time lecture and laboratory experience that serves as the last year for the Medical Laboratory Science degree.
The University of Maine is affiliated with the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, ME; the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH and the New York Presbyterian-Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Juniors in the Medical Laboratory Sciences program apply directly to our affiliated practicum schools or other accredited programs. For enrollment in a practicum program, students must successfully undergo a health check and criminal background check (CBC). Laboratories hiring graduates of these programs will also conduct a CBC and require drug testing. After completing the practicum, students are eligible to take the national certifying examination administered by the American Society of Clinical Pathology.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Clear, legible photocopy of graduation certificate or diploma issued by the Ministerio de Educación and Academic transcripts indicating all subjects taken and grades obtained. Students must have completed secondary/high school or university work. English language requirement: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – minimum score of 79 (iBT) or 550 (paper-based test); IELTS (International English Language Testing System) – minimum score of 6.5; PTE (Pearson Test of English) – minimum score of 53.
