Learn
The Elementary Education Mathematics Comprehensive Major leads to a Michigan Elementary Standard Teaching Certificate for all subjects in grades K-5. Additionally, with the mathematics major, you have the option of adding the endorsement to teach middle school mathematics.
Opportunities
Students who pursue this major will have the mathematical knowledge and training to take a leadership role in mathematics education at the elementary and middle school grades. Having this expertise in mathematics makes for a very marketable elementary teaching degree. Teaching mathematics at the middle school level is also a very rewarding profession. In either case, you have the opportunity to get students excited about mathematics at an early age.
