Communication Technology is the process of designing, constructing, managing and maintaining communication technologies; i.e. print, video and digital media, the internet, wireless networks, cell phones and other communication mediums. The Bachelor of Science in Communication Technology program is an interdisciplinary major. Knowledgeable instructors and an active industry advisory committee comprised of experienced professionals in the communication technology industry provide guidance and continually revise and update the curriculum.
Learn
The undergraduate program includes coursework in media and web production, transmission systems, computer programming, graphic and print applications, information management, communication theory and practice, business and investment and management courses. No minor is required; however, the group of business related courses provides a path for eventual mid-management level careers.
Opportunities
A student with a communication technology degree is capable of finding entry-level positions in a number of fields including television, telecommunication, graphics, computers, printing, and publishing. An internship is required providing valuable work experience.
