Is dance your favorite way to express yourself? Our Bachelor of Arts in Dance offers students a choice of three career-track options: (1) pre-dance therapy, (2) studio management and (3) performance and choreography. Students in the studio management track must also complete a minor in the College of Business or the Arts and Entertainment Management Minor in the School of Communication, Media & Theatre Arts.
Learn
As a dance major, prepare not only to develop your physical skills, but also to explore the history, theory, and science of your art. Get ready for a tough schedule of technique and choreography classes, long evenings in rehearsal, and academic classes. Dance majors challenge their bodies and their minds in this demanding art form. You will develop abilities in critical and creative thinking, oral and written communication, research, abstract reasoning and interpretative skills, in addition to rigorous practical and theoretical training in dance.
Opportunities
The BA prepares students for careers as dancers and choreographers, as well as those in dance education, administration, and therapy.
