Why choose this course?
This innovative course aims to develop individuals with high level knowledge of Quantity Surveying practices, processes and digital technologies, addressing the shortage of skilled quantity surveying professionals globally.
You will be taught how to blend traditional quantity surveying skills with modern technologies whilst ensuring you gain the necessary knowledge and skills to become a reflective practitioner in quantity surveying.
This course responds to the need to embrace digitisation and automation in construction, and you will experience a combination of structured learning with problem-based scenarios and research that will develop your capabilities for critical thinking.
Enabling you to tackle complex financial issues in the construction industry, exposure to new digital tools will help you gain new skills and work smarter as a Quantity Surveyor.
This flexible course can enable qualification at postgraduate certificate and diploma levels on successful completion of a requisite number of modules and credits.
Potential Career Paths
As a graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will be able to further specialise your quantity surveying skills. If you have studied an allied undergraduate built environment course other than quantity surveying, you will be able to change your career path and become a Quantity Surveyor. This course will give you the required set of skills and competencies to work as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry and the ability to qualify as a Chartered Surveyor post completion.
If you have been in the construction industry for some time and work as Quantity Surveyor but haven’t got formal qualifications, this course will offer you an opportunity to obtain a formal educational qualification in quantity surveying. You will also gain a sound knowledge of the construction sector including management, construction processes, BIM and Construction Law. These open up a range of opportunities to specialise in contract administration, site management, project coordination and specialist BIM based roles in addition to traditional quantity surveying services in building and civil engineering projects.
