Students of exceptional academic ability can undertake an enhanced program of studies with the Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Enhanced Program for High Achievers. It provides opportunities to embark upon research in every year of the degree. This additional challenging material provides you with the opportunity to maximise your intellectual growth and potential.
What you will study
First year
A typical first year may include:
- a range of subjects to prepare you for the area(s) of science in which you will specialise in later years
- an introduction to research methodologies and techniques
- a research project.
Second and third year
A typical second and third year might include:
- a program of study tailored to your interests in conjunction with the course coordinator, covering a range of scientific disciplines such as chemical sciences, nanotechnology, animal biology, marine biology and environmental science
- a research project.
Honours year
A typical honours year might include:
- specialised courses and an individually supervised research project
- presentation of the results of your research in a thesis and seminar
- further development of professional skills, particularly those relevant to research and development.
