Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours will develop a strong foundation in basic and pharmaceutical sciences core skills which will be integrated with contemporary knowledge and application of pharmaceutics and pharmacy practice. Prior to the commencement of the third year, students are required to complete 100 hours of practical experience work in a pharmacy which will be integrated into their course work. In the fourth or final year of the degree students will be required to undertake approximately 200 hours of clinical placements in community and hospital pharmacies of which some placements will be outside normal university trimester times. Students will be encouraged to take these placements in rural and regional areas.
The Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours is offered as a 4-year full time undergraduate course and is also available by distance education. The University of New England is the first university in Australia to offer a Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours by distance education delivery. The degree must be completed within ten years from the date of commencement.
This program has been granted accreditation by the Australian Pharmacy Council and is approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia as a qualification leading to registration as a pharmacist in Australia.
For students commencing in Trimester 2 this course is offered only online in a part-time mode.
Career Opportunities
Examples include community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, drug production, marketing or drug development in the pharmaceutical industry.
Course Aims
The Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours aims to produce graduates with the knowledge, skills and attributes necessary to commence supervised practice in a preregistration training program and to achieve the recognised competency standards for practice of pharmacy in Australia and New Zealand. Graduates will also have an understanding of the place of research in furthering the theory and practice of pharmacy.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) For direct admission into undergraduate courses offered by UNE you must have completed an educational qualification considered to be at least equivalent to completion of Year 12 in Australia. Successful completion of a recognised pre-tertiary or foundation program. English language requirements: An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) academic overall score of at least 6.0, with no sub-band less than 5.5. A Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least 213 in the computer-based test OR at least 79 in the internet-based test. You must receive a rating of no less than 22 in the written component. A Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) minimum overall score of 57 with no skill less than 50.
