The Bachelor of Nursing is offered On Campus and Online and either Full-time or Part-time. Both On Campus and Online students participate in structured and timetabled learning activities.
Nursing plays a key role in health services across the world, and registered nurses work in a wide variety of settings. The Bachelor of Nursing equips graduates with the key knowledge and skills necessary for the practice of nursing. Students who successfully complete 6 trimesters of full-time study (or part-time equivalent) graduate with a Bachelor of Nursing and are eligible to apply to become a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA). The course gives graduates an appreciation of the value of life-long learning and a firm foundation for further study at a postgraduate level.
Students who hold un-restricted Enrolled Nurse registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA), can commence the course in the second year and complete two years (four trimesters) of full-time study (or part-time equivalent), graduate with a Bachelor of Nursing and are eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
Units are offered in all three trimesters allowing students to complete the course in two calendar years if they wish.
All students are required to undertake clinical experience. Students may study On Campus at Armidale or Online. Online study necessitates attendance at on campus Intensive schools and participation in structured and timetabled learning activities.
