The undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Food Studies has two concentrations from which you can choose: Food Studies or Nutrition and Dietetics. The former concentration explores the American food system; the latter investigates the role of nutrition and health in society.

The concentration in Food Studies explores the cultural, historical, and sociological aspects of food, production, and consumption. Employing approaches from the humanities and social sciences, the degree prepares you to analyze the current American food system, its global connections, and local alternatives. Core courses within the concentration focus on critical thinking and writing about food.
Food is a multibillion-dollar annual industry. Career opportunities in food-related professions are expanding rapidly. Employers increasingly seek university graduates with educational experience in liberal arts, food, nutrition, and management.
The Nutrition and Dietetics concentration focuses on the role of food, nutrition, and health in society. Integrating knowledge and research into course work, the degree will provide you with an understanding of basic sciences and theoretical and applied aspects of nutrition and dietetics.
