Combine a four-year liberal arts curriculum with immersive study in theatre education and performance in New York City, the world's theatre capital. You'll explore an exciting and growing field that unites the artistry of theatre with its power to inspire change, working closely with supportive faculty members who are leaders in the field.
What You'll Learn
Throughout your degree, you’ll gain:
- A foundation in educational theatre, acting, directing, theatre history, stagecraft, and design
- A full liberal arts education with core courses in history, philosophy, language, literature, sociology, science, and math
- An investigation of options for teaching or performing in a wide range of contexts
Our graduates teach theatre in a variety of settings where certification is not required, including cultural institutions, community organizations, and schools. They hold key positions – often as directors – in education and/or outreach programs affiliated with prestigious professional theatre companies. Our graduates also work as playwrights, directors, technicians, and actors on projects devoted to creating innovative theatre for education and change.
