You’ll combine a conservatory-style sequence of music theory, history, and piano literature courses with a full liberal arts education in the cultural capital of the world. Receive the training you need to succeed as a professional musician through private lessons with our renowned artist faculty, master classes, chamber music coaching, and plenty of performance opportunities.
Your Academic Experience Your curriculum consists of courses in both the liberal arts and music. In addition to eight semesters of private study with our artist faculty and core courses in music history, theory, aural comprehension, and piano literature, you will complete a range of liberal arts core courses, including introductory study of the humanities, social sciences, science, and quantitative reasoning. You'll also have the opportunity to take elective classes in other areas of music – such as music business, music technology, music education, and secondary lessons in jazz, composition, and conducting – while participating in chamber music every semester.
