The Masters level Clinical Mental Health (CMH) Counseling program at The University of Memphis is designed to prepare diverse, knowledgeable and skilled counseling professionals to work in a variety of settings including:
- Private practice
- Substance abuse programs
- Hospital-based treatment programs
- Community-based correction programs
- Veteran's Administration medical centers
- Educational settings (high school and college/university)
- Employee assistance programs
- Community non-profit organizations
The mission of the CMH Counseling program faculty is to prepare counselors who will ethically promote the emotional well-being of :
- Individuals (childhood through adulthood)
- Families
- Diverse client populations located in urban, rural and international settings.
