Nurse-midwives and primary care pediatric nurse practitioners can provide health care for various life stages and purposes: during pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, newborn care, family planning and gynecologic needs for women, well-child care and the diagnosis and management of common acute and chronic health problems. For many nurses who choose an advanced degree in midwifery, pursuing a dual certification in primary care pediatrics allows for a natural expansion of their practice beyond maternal health. At U-M Nursing, our faculty are focused on providing the comprehensive education necessary for you to successfully complete both board certifications.
Learning and Program Plans
The program combines the core strengths of U-M Nursing’s top-ranked Nurse-midwifery and Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner programs to prepare culturally competent practitioners who provide a full range of primary care. This includes women’s health care during pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, newborn care, women’s family planning and gynecologic needs, well-child care and the diagnosis and management of common acute and chronic health problems.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants must complete a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association; or Complete an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned. Other English Language Requirements: Paper/Pencil TOEFL & TWE score of 560; MELAB score of 80.
