Designed for students seeking intensive and specialized professional training in chamber music (available in violin, viola, cello, and double bass). Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in piano or its equivalent, along with substantial solo and ensemble repertoire.
Curriculum
The Master’s of Music in Chamber Music: Strings requires a minimum of 30 credits. Coursework to include:
Private lessons Ensemble participation Non-performance SMTD electives
Final Project
Presentation of a recital to include two major chamber works, including at least one string quartet (excluding double bassists), as well as one concerted sonata for the major instrument and piano.
Students may elect to pursue a double-major in Chamber Music & Performance, which may be completed in two years.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants must complete a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association; or Complete an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned. Other English Language Requirements: Paper/Pencil TOEFL & TWE score of 560; MELAB score of 80.
