在這里學(xué)什么?
The M.S. in Cancer Chemical Biology has a rolling admissions policy. Applications are considered throughout the year.
This program may be of interest to post-baccalaureate students seeking additional quantitative scientific coursework and experience prior to applying to graduate school, medical school, pharmacy school, nursing school and dental school, as well as to international students who wish to obtain direct experience at a U.S. institution prior to applying to U.S. scientific doctoral programs.
Many graduates of our intensive one-year program go on to pursue a Ph.D., or medical, pharmacy, nursing or dental degrees.
Others apply their skills to jobs in industry or other positions outside of academia. International students gain direct experience at a U.S. institution — including access to courses provided by U-M English Language Institute, with much of their offerings focused on high level communication skills.
The Program in Chemical Biology offers preferred consideration for admission to the Ph.D. program for students who maintain a GPA of 4.0 or higher (on a scale to 4.3) in their M.S. coursework.
MS CURRICULUM
The Cancer Chemical Biology master's degree program will require completion of at least 24 credits over the course of two semesters.
All students will complete a core curriculum of courses in chemical biology, ethics training and critical analysis.
The remaining credits are comprised of elective courses selected in consultation with the program advisors and tailored to each student's ultimate career goals.
One-on-one mentoring occurs monthly throughout the two semesters to ensure that milestones are being met, as well as to assist in transitioning to post-graduate employment or education.
There is no research requirement; however, most students are able to gain exposure to cutting-edge research by completing independent study opportunities in laboratories in departments throughout the university's main and medical campuses.
