Collaboration is at the heart of the wind & percussion, which features exceptional dedication and a personal approach from the acclaimed faculty. A fully-integrated environment allows students to thrive and participate in numerous ensembles across a variety of genres, and engage in vast interdisciplinary opportunities at SMTD and across U-M.
This degree allows students the flexibility to develop secondary (cognate) fields of interest through the design of a large part of their programs within stated guidelines and through consultation with a faculty adviser. Applicants are asked to explain their educational and professional goals in the application. Outlines of the curriculum requirements are listed below, but students will customize their program to fit personal goals.
Curriculum
Each undergraduate student enrolled in a Bachelor of Musical Arts program completes the Core Curriculum, plus the following:
A cognate of 3 courses beyond the introductory level to support a field of interest A minimum of ten hours of SMTD electives Performing Arts Technology 201 or another PAT course by petition Sixty to eighty credit hours in music Forty to sixty non-music credit hours including two writing courses Optional Intensive Concentration: a comprehensive project or presentation based on semester-long intensive focus

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Other English Language Requirements: MELAB (plus speaking): 85 range with section scores 80+ and 3+ in speaking; TOEFL (PBT): 600 range with section scores 57+; ECPE: Certificate with all sections at least a C; CAE or CPE: 185 with no less than 180+ in all sections (CEFR C1);PTE Academic: 68 with all sections equally strong.
