在這里學(xué)什么？ In western societies consumers are dependent on the agricultural and food processing industries, and the food retail and food service sectors, for the foodstuffs that sustain their lives.Modern consumers take food very much for granted, giving little thought to what it is and where it has come from. Food is produced by people with specialist know-how, and the food industry has a constant need for appropriately qualified graduates.You will gain a detailed understanding of the food industry, its place in society and relationship to consumers. You will explore the nature of food and how food ingredients behave when processed. You will learn what food is, why we eat it, how it is produced and processed, how the food supply chain operates, food trends, and consumer behaviour.The course will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to develop a career in the industry; anywhere from food processing and manufacture to food retailing.4 years (full-time) including a one-year work placement.
