This program is designed to provide advanced teacher licensure in Special Education: General Curriculum to individuals who have an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited university in special education or another education related field. The primary goal of the MEd program is to prepare teacher leaders for diverse roles in working with individuals with disabilities across the lifespan in a variety of inclusive educational and community environments.
The M.Ed. in Special Education: General Curriculum requires 33 semester hours for students licensed in special education and 39 semester hours for student licensed in another area of education but not special education Both options lead to eligibility for advanced licensure in General Curriculum. At least 27 hours in the program of study must be in 600-level courses.
Career Opportunities
Students have the opportunity to work closely with professors in an environment that fosters growth and emphasizes the delivery of services in integrated settings, with a focus on interdisciplinary and interagency collaboration. Upon graduation, students are prepared for professional careers in rural and urban, public and private schools, residential settings, community agencies, clinics, and organizations.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 All applicants must have obtained the following: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or appropriately-evaluated credentials for non-U.S. schools; satisfactory academic standing as an undergraduate or in a post-baccalaureate program. Non-native speakers of English must validate proficiency in the English language by one of three means: TOEFL: 79 (paper-based 550); IELTS: 6.5 Band Score; PTE: 67; and ELS: 112.
