The purpose of the Social Work major is to prepare students for entry level generalist practice in social work. This is a professional program of study which is strongly grounded for the first two years in liberal arts; the second two years focus on the professional curriculum. The program prepares students for work with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities.
DEGREE OUTCOMES
- Graduates are qualified to begin work in community-based organizations engaging in direct social work practice.
- Many graduates continue their studies at top-tier graduate-level social work programs, such as The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Columbia University, and the University of Michigan.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students must have completed a high school diploma and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required; preferred 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 GPA scale. UNCG accepts the following English Language Proficiency results for direct entry: IBT TOEFL 79 minimum; IELTS 6.5 minimum; ELS 112 score report; PTE Academic 53 minimum; and Level 5 Certificate – American Language Academy (ALA).
