The Bachelor of Music in Performance is a professional music degree that prepares students for future careers as performers, composers and/or teachers. Concentrations are available in instrumental, vocal, jazz studies and composition. The degree requires students to spend approximately two-thirds of their time in music study. The Music Performance degree, including jazz studies, requires an audition.
Graduating Students in the B.M. Music Performance Program will:
- communicate clear musical intentions and understanding;
- demonstrate sufficient understanding of and capability with musical forms, processes, and structures in performance or creative applications according to the requisites of their specializations;
- demonstrate basic understanding of historical awareness in performance or creative applications according to the requisites of their specializations;
- demonstrate sufficient technical ability in performance or creative applications according to the requisites of their specializations; and,
- demonstrate entrepreneurial skills according to the requisites of their specializations.

為來自中國的學生設計 Students must have completed a high school diploma and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required; preferred 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 GPA scale. UNCG accepts the following English Language Proficiency results for direct entry: IBT TOEFL 79 minimum; IELTS 6.5 minimum; ELS 112 score report; PTE Academic 53 minimum; and Level 5 Certificate – American Language Academy (ALA).
