In the Department of Accounting and Finance, finance students will learn the theory, organization, and operation of the financial system from both a market and a managerial viewpoint.
Degree Outcomes
Students with a finance degree generally enjoy excellent career opportunities. Potential positions include commercial lender, personal banker, financial planner, stock analyst, stockbroker, financial analyst, treasurer, credit analyst, and capital budgeting director.
Some employers of our graduates include BB&T, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Koury Convention Center, and Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.
Students also will be prepared for graduate study, most often in accounting or finance but also in law and business.
Overall Requirements
- 122 credit hours, to include at least 36 credits at or above the 300 course level
- Minimum grade of C in all ACC, ECO, and FIN courses at the 300 level or above used toward the major
- At least 50 percent of the business credits required for the degree must be earned at UNC Greensboro.

UNCG accepts the following English Language Proficiency results for direct entry: IBT TOEFL 79 minimum; IELTS 6.5 minimum; ELS 112 score report; PTE Academic 53 minimum; and Level 5 Certificate – American Language Academy (ALA).
