About the course
The MSc in Global Healthcare Leadership is an intellectually rigorous and highly practical, part-time programme, designed to develop experiences leaders with the skills to deliver affordable, effective and efficient healthcare in complex global systems.
This multi-disciplinary master’s degree is led by the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences in partnership with Sa?d Business School, creating an innovative and integrated programme that harnesses the University’s world-leading expertise in healthcare, business and policy.
Global health challenges have highlighted the complexity of decision making in healthcare systems and the need for good leadership to deliver a better future for the health of their communities. This programme will help you develop resilience and the ability to innovate and strengthen healthcare provision.
This programme takes a holistic approach, looking at healthcare from an individual, organisational and systemic perspective, whilst bringing together world-leading departments in healthcare research and delivery with experts in leadership and business.
The MSc in Global Healthcare Leadership offers you:
- the ability to develop crucial leadership, resilience and innovation skills;

Assessment
This MSc is formally assessed by eight individual 3,000-word assignments, each worth 10% of the total marks, performed at the end of each module. It concludes with a written dissertation of 10,000 words worth 20%. Students who fail to achieve the required standard have one opportunity to retake/resubmit the assessments. Students are required to pass all of the core courses and the dissertation.
Graduate destinations
Graduates of the programme will become alumni of both the Medical Sciences Division and the Sa?d Business School. The Oxford Business Alumni (OBA) Network is the official alumni network of Sa?d Business School University of Oxford. Overseen by the Sa?d Business School Alumni Relations Team, the network was established in 1997 to provide a focus for Oxonians who share a common interest in management practice, ensuring an active network of emotionally and intellectually engaged alumni.
There are more than 24,000 OBA members living in over 149 countries from across both the School's programmes and the wider University. As part of this network there are 23 chapters and over 60 regional ambassadors across six continents, all offering an exciting variety of events from social gatherings to networking sessions.
Although it is anticipated that MSc in Global Healthcare Leadership students are generally individuals with well-established careers and career progression plans, the Sa?d Business School’s careers service offer a programme of events in areas such as salary negotiation, interview preparation and strategic networking for students to access. The School also offers a range of digital resources via a dedicated online platform that are available to students of the MSc in Global Healthcare Leadership.
