The MLIS/MM Music Coordinated Degree Program prepares students for positions as music librarians. Hundreds of colleges, universities, and public libraries possess sizable music collections and there are libraries devoted specifically to music, music research, or both. Music publishers, as well as symphony orchestras, have their own librarians. Whether for the research needs of scholars, for the practical needs of performers, or for questions from the general public, music libraries call for specially trained librarians who possess advanced knowledge and skills in both music and librarianship. There is a growing need to train information professionals to manage these collections.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants for admission to the UWM Graduate School must have the following: A baccalaureate degree or its equivalent as determined by the UWM Centre on International Education, from a regionally accredited institution, completed before the first term of enrolment in the Graduate School. Students applying to approved integrated bachelor’s/master’s programs are exempt from this requirement, A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, or an equivalent measure on a grading system that does not use a 4.0 scale. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) results with a minimum required score of 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) and a minimum recommended sub-score of 18 in each skill). IELTS (International English Language Testing System) results with a minimum required score of 6.5, with minimum recommended sub-score of 6.0 in each skill.
