The Master of Science degree in Health and Kinesiology is designed for students seeking advanced skills and professional development in Health and Kinesiology. The program is also designed for students who wish to pursue a research career in Health and Kinesiology or to continue their studies at other universities at the doctoral level.
This degree is jointly administered by the departments of Kinesiology and Public Health.
Program Options
There are three areas of specialization, each with a thesis (33 credit hours) and non-thesis (36 credit hours) track:
The Health Specialization provides advanced training in public health education and community health promotion
The Exercise Science Specialization provides advanced training to students interested in kinesiology-related research and careers in therapeutic professions
The Sport Pedagogy Specialization prepares future leaders in physical education and coaching
Thesis Track (33 credit hours) is recommended for students who wish to pursue a doctoral degree or for those who wish to obtain research-intensive positions within city, state, and government agencies. Six hours of master’s thesis research is included in the total credit hours required for this option.
Non-Thesis Track (36 credit hours) is recommended for current and future educators who wish to gain both additional training and practical knowledge for professional development. Students who are interested in pursuing careers in community and non-profit organizations may select this option.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of this program pursue careers as teachers, coaches, researchers, supervisors, health workers and administrators in education, health, and private sector settings.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Earned a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited xadcollege or university in the United States or have proof of equivalent training at a foreign institution. A minimum grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) from an awarded master's or bachelor's degree may be admitted with no conditions. TOEFL Internet 79, TOEFL Paper 60, IELTS 6.5.
