The M.A.- Bicultural-Bilingual Education degree program offers advanced study in the design and implementation of bilingual/ dual language education programs. Coursework incorporates theories of critical pedagogy and educational equity as well as perspectives on additive bilingualism and biliteracy. This interdisciplinary degree advances understandings of urban education, applied linguistics in bilingual settings, and multicultural children’s literature. Grounded in social justice, the program of study incorporates theory and research related to effective bilingual/dual language education.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates are prepared to be lead teachers (change agents) in bilingual/ dual language settings in both school and the district. The thesis option prepares graduates to pursue doctoral studies in a related field.
PROGRAM OPTIONS
Two program of study options allow students to tailor the degree to meet their specific career goals: non-thesis and thesis.
? A non-thesis option provides a range of elective courses covering expressive culture, language diversity, sociocultural issues, historical foundations, and research.
? A thesis option emphasizes research and/or preparation for advanced study at the doctoral level. Completion of 30 semester credit hours required. Six semester credit hours are taught in Spanish.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Earned a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited xadcollege or university in the United States or have proof of equivalent training at a foreign institution. A minimum grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) from an awarded master's or bachelor's degree may be admitted with no conditions. TOEFL Internet 79, TOEFL Paper 60, IELTS 6.5.
