Do you ever walk into a grocery store, pick up an item and wonder what the story behind it is? Do you ask yourself questions like, what was the process like to make this, how much did it cost and is it priced differently elsewhere? If you’re interested in supply and demand, production, and the cost of items in a store, then earning a degree in economics might be the right choice for you.
UTSA’s Economics Program
Economics studies how people, firms and governments use their resources to meet human needs. UTSA offers two different Economics degrees, you can earn either the B.B.A. or the B.A. Both lay a strong foundation in economics with the B.A. focusing more on the qualitative aspects and the B.B.A. offering a business education to those who are interested in working toward a career path. In these programs, you’ll learn how to make effective resource allocation decisions, how incentives affect human behavior, and solve complex contemporary issues for businesses, organizations and policymakers.
What You’ll Learn
As an Economics major, you’ll have the option of learning a business competency as you work toward completing your degree. These competencies are available through elective courses and aim to develop a greater set of marketable skills for business majors. The competencies available for Economics majors are analytics, entrepreneurship, international business, leading change, modeling and risk management.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Possess equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma. Minimum 2.5 GPA (4.0 scale). English Language Proficiency: A TOEFL Internet-Based Test (IBT) score of 79 or greater. A TOEFL Paper-Based Test (PBT) score of 550 or greater. An IELTS score of 6.5 or greater. A PTE Academic score of 58 or greater. A Cambridge C1 Advanced minimum scale 180 grade C or higher.
