在這里學(xué)什么?
EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY
Currently, the exercise physiology graduate program has experts working in the areas of high intensity exercise, exercise and aging, renal health, hydration, circadian rhythms, toxicology, molecular biology, and cardiovascular physiology. Students are encouraged to choose a major advisor whose research coincides with their own interests. However, there are many times when collaborations between multiple faculty occur when overlapping interests make it reasonable.
MOTOR LEARNING
The Master’s program with a concentration in Motor Learning and Control (MLC) prepares students for careers related to coaching, physical education, human physiology and therapeutic rehabilitation. Students in this program will focus on learning behavioral theories of human perception and action, as well as the behavioral, biomechanical, and neural mechanisms underlying motor control and skill acquisition.
COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC HEALTH
The Kinesiology & Health master’s degree focus in community and public health helps students develop systems-thinking approaches to creating conditions for healthy communities and ending health disparities. Students can maintain a general community and public health focus or specialize in public health nutrition arenas of food security, food systems, and food justice.
SPORT AND EXERCISE SCIENCE
Graduate students who choose our Exercise and Sport Science track are bound for a range of careers in personal health, community health, and kinesiology (e.g., cardiac rehabilitation, exercise physiology, and coaching strength and conditioning). Some continue to doctoral or advanced medical programs in exercise science, physical therapy, occupational therapy, chiropractic therapy, public health, and medicine.
SPORT AND EXERCISE PSYCHOLOGY
The emphasis in Sport and Exercise Psychology is intended to assist graduate students in better understanding the cognitive, affective, and behavioral precursors to and consequences of effective performances in the physical domain, with a primary focus on sport, exercise, and physical activity.
BIOMECHANICS
The biomechanics concentration is of interests to students who want to pursue careers in injury and biomechanics, athletic training, physical therapy, strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation. Our research areas include understanding the mechanisms of exercise, sports, and work-related lower extremity and spinal injuries, development of effective injury prevention and rehabilitation strategies, analysis of sports techniques and performance, and motor control and learning.
