Criminal justice is that kind of degree program—one that allows you to forge your own trail to a variety of careers that include law, policing, corrections, Homeland Security, military service, probation and parole, court administration or social work.
What is Criminal Justice?
Criminal justice is an interdisciplinary degree program that will expose you to the study of criminology, political science, sociology, psychology, anthropology, among other fields. It is also an experiential program in that allows you to take as many as 12 internship credit hours, giving you the opportunity to experience different career paths and develop skills that will prepare you for the job market. UW offers the criminal justice bachelor’s degree program on campus and as a completion program at a distance through online/on-campus delivery.
As a University of Wyoming criminal justice major, you will take a wide variety of classes across multiple disciplines that will give you insights into the nature of crime in America while also exposing you to the wide variety of careers available to you in broad field of criminal justice.
Pre-Law Concentration
The Department of Criminal Justice offers a Pre-Law Concentration for Criminal Justice majors that consists of courses selected from several departments across the university. These courses were chosen to help prepare students for the challenges of law school and the practice of law. Students electing the Pre-Law Concentration are urged to seek advising early.
