The Master of Arts in educational leadership degree is based on a performance-driven leadership model in which students actively participate in a variety of activities designed to prepare them for the challenges faced by today's educational organizations.
This 30-credit-hour Master's degree concentration in the Department of Educational Leadership, Research and Technology is designed to prepare graduate students for a leadership role as a building principal. Students completing this concentration will be recommended to the state of Michigan for K-12 Administrator certification and the basic principal endorsements of elementary and secondary principal.
The K-12 unit has successfully delivered the Educational Leadership MA and K-12 Administrator Certificate in the cohort model that is job embedded by utilizing local and intermediate school district resources and opportunities. The department is willing to create cohorts that target specific school districts, counties, or regions.
