在這里學(xué)什么?
PSU’s Master’s degrees in Anthropology (MA, MS) are designed to prepare students for professional employment or in some cases, for further education in a PhD program. Our program gives background across three main subfields of biological anthropology, archaeology, and sociocultural anthropology, while promoting a student’s focus within one of the subfields. Students have the option to follow one of three tracks: Thesis Track, Internship Track, Skills-based Track (courses + comprehensive exams).
The internship and skills tracks are designed to prepare students for professional employment related to applied anthropology. Students in the internship track will complete an internship and a thesis that combines an internship deliverable and a final internship paper. Students in the skills track will take 7 additional hours of coursework, complete comprehensive exams, and submit a portfolio that documents the skills they obtained during the program.
Skills Track (Comprehensive Exams + Portfolio)
Of the 52 required credits, 32 must be in anthropology
WHAT CAN I DO WITH A MASTER'S DEGREE IN ANTHROPOLOGY?
Our program has had great success placing students in a range of settings: government agencies (U.S. Department of Transportation, National Park Service, Oregon State Police, Peace Corps), private corporations (Intel, ICF-International), non-governmental organizations, and others (Oregon Health Sciences University).
