The Educational Leadership faculty provide innovative educational experiences to meet education leaders' specialized and advanced academic and practical needs. Our programs lead to master's and doctoral degrees and certification in school leadership.
The program supports both the public and private educational sectors by providing advancement and application of knowledge while emphasizing research and creative activities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and beyond.

Accelerated Online Program
UNT emphasizes current theory and research to help educational leaders make decisions about effective practices and student achievement. We accentuate field-based, practical applications of learning in educational leadership with online classes. We also help prepare candidates for the Texas Examination of Education Standards (TExES) for Principal Certification.
This 30-hour program leading to a master's degree is provided through ten courses, offered in eight-week terms. It is possible for full-time students to complete all courses for the program in twelve months if they take four courses during each academic semester and two courses in the summer.
Administered in a flexible online format, this program is designed for:
- Educators seeking advancement as administrators in schools, school districts, or other educational institutions
- Classroom teachers who may not be seeking administrative positions but who want to assume other kinds of leadership roles
- Master's degree holders seeking principal certification
