UNT’s Public Health program prepares professionals who support individuals with health care needs and disabilities to achieve their life goals. Graduates may pursue careers within public hospitals, health departments, non-profits, and many other settings. Students may choose from a wide variety of specializations. Five concentration areas are offered.
The Public Health program prepares professionals to support consumers with health care needs and disabilities in achieving their life’s goals through analyzing each individual’s health care needs. Due to the broad focus of this program, individuals may pursue careers within various public hospitals, health departments, and non-profits, in the public health care industries. Graduates of our program may choose from a wide variety of specializations enabling them to succeed in many different roles in health care. The HPS Student Services Advising Office assists students with degree planning. The Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health at the University of North Texas consists of 120 college credit hours. The degree requires 42 hours of general academics, 27 hours in the major, 12 hours in the Health Track, 27 hours in Health electives and 18 hours in a Concentration area. Overall GPA must be 2.0 or above.

English language requirement: IELTS: Overall band 6.0 or higher; TOEFL: Internet-Based (IBT): 79; Paper-Based: 550; PTE: Score of 53 or higher; ACT: 21 or higher on English; MELAB (official version): 80 or higher.
