在這里學(xué)什么？
As a Merchandising major, you will take courses in textiles, trend analysis, product development, fashion theory, consumer studies, brand development, visual merchandising, promotion, global issues and merchandising math. Students also need to complete a required internship that prepares them to further their career within the field upon graduation.
In addition, you must complete 18 credit hours of business courses, including courses in accounting, management and marketing.
You also may have an opportunity to showcase your work in the school’s annual research competition.
Merchandising encompasses the planning, developing, presenting and selling of fashion products in consumer-driven markets. A bachelor’s degree in this field can help prepare you for many positions, including:
- Merchandiser
- Buyer for retail brands
- Product developer
- Brand manager
- Store analyst
- Visual merchandiser
- Store manager in retail store operations
