HDFS students acquire a broad knowledge of human development, family development and family systems in preparation for working with people and communities in a variety of career fields ranging from local organizations, to non-profit, to government agencies. The HDFS degree provides students a program of study in one of the following 4 concentrations:
- Family and Community Concentration
- Lifespan Development Concentration
- Teacher Certification in Human Development and Family Science (8-12th Grade)
- Teacher Certification in Family and Consumer Sciences (6-12th Grade)

English language requirement: IELTS: Overall band 6.0 or higher; TOEFL: Internet-Based (IBT): 79; Paper-Based: 550; PTE: Score of 53 or higher; ACT: 21 or higher on English; MELAB (official version): 80 or higher.
