Our rigorous curriculum in the Risk Management and Insurance program gives you an in-depth understanding of areas related to risk management and insurance, while the Financial Planning program provides the same in the area of financial services. Armed with this knowledge, you’ll have a competitive advantage over other new hires and be on the fast track to advance your career.
Your class schedule for the first few semesters will consist of university core classes and required pre-business classes. From there, you’ll take 24 semester hours of business foundation courses and 30 semester hours of risk, insurance and financial services courses and supporting courses.
The coursework in the Risk Management and Insurance program will focus on areas such as:
- Corporate risk management
- Introduction to risk management and insurance
- Insurance company operations
- Property/liability risk management and insurance
The coursework in the Financial Planning program will focus on areas such as:
- Estate planning
- Life insurance
- Investments
- Principles of federal income taxation
- Techniques in effective financial planning
