A Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science from the University of North Texas offers an interdisciplinary approach to 21st century education. This approach allows you to tailor a degree program to your specific needs and career goals.
The Social Science major requires completing at least 18 credit hours in a primary study area and an additional 30 credit hours in two or more complementary subject areas. Out of these 48 credit hours in the major, at least 24 credit hours must be advanced level courses.
The Social Studies with Secondary Certification requires completing 63 credit hours in the teaching fields and 21 credit hours of secondary education courses. Many of the Social Studies courses are completed as part of the university’s core curriculum.
