Program Overview
The University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation can prepare you for a career as a nurse educator in associate and baccalaureate nursing programs as well as education positions in healthcare delivery systems. The online MSN in Nursing Education program concentrates on the core knowledge needed to develop curricula, advance teaching skills, and evaluate and develop active strategies in the classroom.
The online nursing education program prepares nurses with the knowledge and skills needed to promote student engagement, student retention and active learning. Simulation and other relevant teaching strategies are also part of the online MSN Nursing Education program.
UTA's Online MSN in Nursing Education program includes these key elements:
Coursework delivered through a proven technology-based learning model, providing state of the art online courses enhanced with clinical experiences
An instructional format unlike traditional semester schedules, giving students the flexibility to enter and progress through the program quickly or at a preferred pace
The advantage for graduates of clinical experiences (students must complete 90 non-preceptor clinical hours and 135 preceptor clinical hours for a total of 270 clinical hours), enabling practice and preparation for the transition into an actual nursing education role

Applicants are expected to submit a score of at least 550 on the paper-based TOEFL, a score of at least 213 on the computer-based TOEFL, a minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS, or a minimum TOEFL iBT total score of 79. Further, when the TOEFL iBT is taken, sectional scores of at least 22 on the writing section, 21 on the speaking section, 20 on the reading section, and 16 on the listening
