International business and economics focuses the disciplines of management, international trade, finance, marketing and economics on the challenges of global commerce. International managers explore such questions as, “What causes international financial crisis and how can we shelter our corporation from risk?” or “How will trade laws impact our ability to complete overseas?” and “How can we use technology to manage human resources over great distance and among different cultures?"
As part of the Paul College of Business and Economics, the business administration major international business and economics option is an interdisciplinary course of study, providing you strong business training and preparation for a career at organizations with an international focus, particularly multinational corporations, international banks and government agencies. You’ll be encouraged to experience other cultures first-hand through internships or study abroad. Paul College’s Budapest Study Abroad Program, managed by faculty and staff, allows you to integrate into a multinational and intercultural community in the heart of Europe while taking classes directly related to international business and economics.

Program Objectives
The Option in International Business and Economics offers an interdisciplinary course of study, providing strong business training for students pursuing careers at organizations with an international focus, particularly in multinational corporations, international banks, and government agencies. It achieves this by combining general business training with in-depth knowledge in economics, finance, and management. Students are strongly encouraged to round out their education with either an internship at an international organization or by studying abroad for one semester.

A student’s academic record, including program of study, class rigor, standing in their class, and achievement is of primary importance in assessing a student’s potential for success at UNH. Students should complete the following sequences of college preparatory coursework to be considered minimally qualified for baccalaureate admission to the University: Demonstrated proficiency in English, Three years of mathematics, Three years of science, Three years of social sciences and Two years of a single foreign language (If English is your first language). International students, whose primary language is not English, must submit the results of a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or Duolingo. The recommended minimum TOEFL score is 213 (computer version) or 550 (paper version) or 80 (Internet version). The minimum IELTS acceptable proficiency grade is 6.5. The minimum Duolingo scores are 70.
