Tax professionals help corporations, small businesses, nonprofits and government agencies navigate the complexities of tax laws to understand how their taxes fit into the organization's overall plan.
The Master of Science in Taxation (MST) is a 30 credit hour program that will prepare you to be a tax specialist and business strategist, whether your field is accounting, law, business or financial planning.
Tax expertise is a specialty every individual and organization needs. This program will allow you to gain a deeper understanding of the tax code, and leverage your expertise to help your company or organization make strategic and informed financial decisions.
What you will learn
Upon completing the Kelley Indianapolis MST degree program, you'll gain expertise in the following areas:
- Federal income tax
- State and local taxation
- Corporation tax
- S-corporations
- Partnership taxation
- Business and estate planning
- Tax-exempt organizations
- Tax policy and procedure
Learning in a Professional Environment
At Kelley Indianapolis, we understand real-life work experience is essential to success outside of the classroom. Learning in a Professional Environment (LIPE) allows you to earn up to three hours of graduate credit for work experience you obtain while earning your MS in Taxation.
Especially for international students and those who come to the MST program with no previous work experience in accounting or taxation, LIPE provides a way to put accounting skills into practice while developing professional acumen.
The 30 credit hours required for the Master of Science in Taxation (MST) program is composed of 19.5 hours of required courses and 10.5 hours of elective courses.
