Exercise science plays a critical role in health, wellness, and disease prevention. Our graduate students become exercise specialists, personal trainers, and higher-level educators.
Clinical Exercise Science Track
You'll explore human movement and muscular control, including how to research, analyze, and interpret data in human performance. You may choose from electives that cover cardiac assessment in exercise testing, muscle physiology, and advanced theories of high level performance.
Graduate Certificate in Public Health
You'll study exercise leadership, exercise counseling, and exercise as a prescription for health and disease. You'll also explore corporate fitness and wellness and the basics of human performance. You may also choose from a list of electives that cover nutrition, sport psychology, the role of physical activity in disease prevention, and corporate fitness and wellness.
What you'll learn
The Master of Science degree includes 18 hours of major topics in kinesiology and human performance, as well as 18 hours of elective courses, 9 of which must be completed within the School of Physical Education and Tourism Management. Each graduate student is assigned an advisor who helps plan their course of study based on goals and experience.
