The Master of Science degree program offered by the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology at IU School of Medicine is specifically designed for graduates with an undergraduate bachelor’s degree who wish to improve their academic credentials and their chances of successful admission to medical and other professional schools. This program has existed for more than 20 years, and students who participate in the program benefit by demonstrating to professional schools evidence of strong motivation, ability to do well and succeed in a demanding graduate curriculum and excellent preparation in biomedical sciences.
This is an intensive three-semester program designed for students wishing to pursue advanced positions in academic research institutions, industrial settings and professional schools. Students entering this program enhance knowledge of cellular and integrated physiology through coursework and research, helping prepare for jobs in biomedical research, industry, small colleges and other professions. In addition, this program serves students wishing to improve academic qualifications for entry into professional schools such as medical or dental schools.
