The Master of Public Health (MPH) provides a balance of academic theory and real-world experience; ensuring students are prepared for a career in public health. Students in the Health Policy and Management (HPM) concentration will acquire skills in policy process, development, and analysis. Students explore current national and state public health issues and make policy recommendations to address those issues, as well as develop strategic capability for managing health services organizations in a policy context.
Faculty
The Health Policy and Management department is comprised of a renowned, award-winning and connected faculty. The faculty’s research interests are varied and focused on important local and global health issues, including the financing and delivery of health care, patient experience, food deserts, community health needs assessments and substance use disorders.
Curriculum
All MPH candidates must satisfactorily complete a minimum of 45 credits. For those pursuing the Health Policy and Management concentration, the curriculum includes required core courses, Health Policy and Management courses, and elective courses. In addition, each student must complete an internship and a final concentration project.
