The RN to BSN online degree completion option is designed for the working RN who has earned a two-year associate degree or diploma in nursing and is busy with career and family responsibilities but wants to be prepared to meet the future challenges of health care by completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
All eight Indiana University School of Nursing campuses across the state of Indiana collaboratively created the RN to BSN degree completion program. What does that mean for you?
- Nursing courses are distance accessible, using web-based and video technologies so that you don't have to come to campus.
- Earn your BSN where you live, in the midst of a busy schedule.
- The program is flexible: once you complete general education coursework, you can complete nursing courses in 12 months of full-time study or 18?24 months of part-time study.
- Nursing courses are delivered in condensed, six- or eight-week learning modules.
- Tailored clinical experiences where you work.
RN to BSN Program Learning Outcomes
Every graduate of the RN to BSN Degree Completion Option is expected to demonstrate that he or she is:
- A critical thinker who demonstrates intellectual engagement and uses evidence as a basis for clinical reasoning and decision making.
- A culturally sensitive individual who provides holistic individual, family, community, and population-centered nursing care.
- A knowledgeable care coordinator who facilitates access to resources across the continuum of health care environments in order to meet the evolving health care needs of individuals, families, communities, and populations.
- An individual who understands and considers the impact of health care policy, finance, and regulatory environments on care delivery.
- An individual who embodies the professional identity of the nurse and who translates the inherent values of the nursing profession into the ethical and legal practice of nursing.
- An effective communicator who collaborates with interprofessional team members, patients, and their support systems for improved health outcomes.
- A competent care provider who is prepared to practice to the full capacity of the professional nurse role in diverse health care environments.
- An accountable leader and manager who applies principles of systems and organizational processes and who balances resources to promote quality care and patient safety.
- An individual who embraces and employs innovations in information management and technology in the delivery of quality patient care.
Nursing Careers

You will be well positioned for leadership roles as well as graduate study. Even in this time of economic uncertainty, baccalaureate-prepared nurses are still highly sought after and the baccalaureate degree in nursing is the preferred entry level for nurses in today's complex health care environment.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants must have completed or will complete secondary school by the time of enrollment; No grade point average guarantees admission to IUPUI. We look for applicants who have demonstrated a "B" average or above average grades, with strong grades in math and science. TOEFL (iBT) – 60; IELTS – 5.5; IUPUI Program for Intensive English (PIE) score of Level 5; GCSE or GCE O Level in English language score of Grades A-C; International Baccalaureate score of Higher Level English A1 or A2 Certificate, grade of 4 or higher; Freshman English Composition Course score of "C" grade or higher (equivalent to IUPUI W131) from a regionally accredited U.S. University.
